                                                                                     Homecoming Sponsors

Homecoming Sponsors?  Or are they Homecoming Princesses?
Sponsors "back in the day" were elected representatives of the
high school classes. Today, they're called Princesses, aka
Princesses of the Homecoming Queen's Court. Today, class
sponsors would be local businesses supporting the senior class
or even the high school and have the businesses' banners
and logos displayed on the athletic fields and/or courts.

Each school and collages has their own way of selecting
Queens, Princesses and some have Kings and Princes, and
sometimes both.

In our day, the late 1960s, the Monogram Club elected the
Queen and I don't remember the high school classes choosing
the Princesses so, I'm guessing the Monogram Club had that task.

And did you know that the tradition of Homecoming started
in 1911 at the University of Missouri? Type in homecoming 1911
in your favorite search engine and see what you get.
